The Distance and Online Course offered by Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya is UGC-DEB entitled. Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya, additionally ensures the curriculum and quality of distance education programs meet national and international standards, offering equal validity and acceptance for higher studies and employment opportunities.

Students can verify the recognition status of institutions offering ODL and Online education by checking the UGC-DEB website, which lists the approved institutions and their programs. GGV is UGC-DEB entitled and its ODL and Online programs are approved.

The admission process can be done in online mode only. However, the applicants need to send a hard copy of all self-attested documents that are uploaded online.

The procedure for obtaining admission to the Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) at Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya typically involves the following steps:

Enter your personal, educational, and contact details carefully. Important: Use your active email address, as all communication will be sent to this address. Ensure you have an Academic Bank of Credits (ABC-ID) and Distance Education Bureau (DEB-ID) before completing the form. If not, create these IDs using the links provided in the website.

 

Step 5: Upload Documents

Upload scanned copies of the required documents, such as academic transcripts and proof of ID.

Step 6: Pay the Application Fee

Pay the application fee using the secure online payment gateway.

Step 8: Receive Confirmation

Important Instructions

Admission is provisional and based on valid documents and the student’s undertaking. It may be cancelled if eligibility criteria are not fulfilled. 

The Academic Bank of Credit ID (ABC-ID) is a unique identification number assigned to students under India’s Academic Bank of Credits system. It facilitates the digital storage, transfer, and accumulation of academic credits earned across multiple institutions, supporting flexible learning pathways and enabling credit transfers for degree completion as per the National Education Policy-2020.

Yes, Under NEP 2020, and as per the rules and regulations of GGV, having an Academic Bank of Credit ID (ABC-ID) is mandatory for students.

DEB-ID is a unique identifier assigned to students enrolled in programs under the Distance Education Bureau (DEB) of the University Grants Commission (UGC) in India. The DEB-ID ensures proper enrolment, facilitates academic credit tracking, and helps maintain compliance with UGC-DEB guidelines for recognized programs.

Yes, having a DEB-ID is mandatory for admission to distance education or online courses regulated by the Distance Education Bureau (DEB) of the University Grants Commission (UGC) in India.

The University Grants Commission in its 581st meeting held on 25th June, 2024 decided to standardize the admission process for students enrolling in ODL and/or OL programmes to safeguard their academic future and career opportunities. Accordingly, it was made mandatory for students to register on UGC-DEB web portal with his/her Academic Bank of Credit (ABC)-ID to generate a unique DEB-ID to enroll in ODL/Online programmes.

Relaxation in Upper Age Limit for Reserved Categories:

·         There is a 5-year relaxation in the upper age limit for SC, ST, and PWD candidates.

·        OBC candidates are granted a 3-year relaxation in the upper age limit wherever it is prescribed

Yes, applicants from foreign countries are also eligible to apply. Their fees will be calculated in US dollars based on the conversion rate of Indian Rupees at the time of admission / registration.
